Youth Programming Returns to the Rocky Mountain Conference

For the past several years, La Foret has had the privilege of planning and leading youth retreats on behalf of the Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Church of Christ. Under the leadership of La Foret’s Director of Transformational Programs, Rev. Logan Bennett, an incredible team of staff, volunteers, clergy, and counselors has continued a long tradition of creating spaces where young people can experience belonging, ask big questions, build lasting friendships, and discover the sacredness of being fully themselves.

This summer marked an exciting new chapter in that partnership. In July, the Rocky Mountain Conference welcomed Rev. Brooklyn McBride as its new Youth Coordinator, returning the primary leadership of RMC youth programming to the Conference.

For La Foret, this transition feels less like an ending and much more like a return to our roots.

Although La Foret has operated as an independent nonprofit organization for many years, our history is deeply intertwined with the United Church of Christ and the generations of churches, clergy, families, volunteers, and young people who have made this place what it is. Our relationship with the Rocky Mountain Conference remains an important part of that story.

We are delighted to continue working alongside Brooklyn and the RMC as La Foret remains a home for youth retreats, summer camp, and the beloved community that generations of young people have found here.

We are excited to see where this next chapter takes us—and grateful that we get to continue the journey together.
