At La Foret, we believe in the power of gathering — of stepping outside the rush of daily life and returning to the heart of what really matters. That’s why we’re so excited to announce the rescheduled launch of Campfire Connection, a new event for anyone whose life has been touched by camp.

Whether you once roamed the paths of La Foret as a wide-eyed camper, served as a staff member singing under the stars, or simply know the magic of this sacred place through your child or other loved one's stories, Campfire Connection is for you.

What Is Campfire Connection?

Campfire Connection is a quarterly gathering designed for reconnection, renewal, and joy. Imagine your favorite parts of camp — the songs, the s’mores, the quiet walks, the spontaneous laughter — woven into a simple, soulful weekend. It’s a relaxed, low-stakes time to remember what it feels like to belong.

Our first gathering will take place Friday evening, September 12, through Saturday afternoon, September 13. You can come just for Friday night to enjoy a casual campfire, just Saturday for cap activities and worship, or you can join us for all of it!

This Gathering’s Theme: “Islands of Sanity”

Inspired by author Margaret Wheatley, our theme for this session is Islands of Sanity. In her work, Wheatley writes about the need to create pockets of clarity and connection in the midst of a chaotic world — spaces where we remember who we are and imagine who we can be. Together, we’ll explore what it means to create that kind of space through community, creativity, and care.

Schedule Highlights:

Friday Evening, starting at 7:00 PM:

• Arrive and settle in

• Light-hearted get-to-know-you activities

• Campfire with songs and s’mores

Saturday (9:00 AM – 2:30 PM):

• Breakfast and morning watch

• Camp activities (crafts, games, storytelling, and more)

• Lunch in the dining hall

• Co-creating a simple, meaningful camp-style worship

• Closing by mid-afternoon

Registration Details (Please Read Carefully!):

Campfire Connection is free to attend, and donation-based, but registration is required for everyone — even if you plan to only stop by for a few hours. This ensures we can prepare the right number of materials, spaces, and meals with care.

• If you plan to stay overnight and/or eat meals with us**, you must register by Wednesday, September 10th.

• If you're joining us for Saturday only (and not staying overnight or dining), you can register until Thursday, September 11th.

We know it’s tempting to just “show up,” but in order to make this a welcoming and well-supported experience for all, **please do take a moment to register.** It truly helps us build the space with love.
