Explorer Camp provides an incredible community experience for children entering grades 3-6! (This is the first year that Explorer has included 3rd grade, as previously, 2nd and 3rd graders could only attend the now-discontinued Pioneer camp). Supported by trained counselors and staff, campers will engage with nature, form friendships, and explore their personal beliefs, all with an emphasis on fun! The week will include activities like campfires, swimming, arts and crafts, outdoor games, free time, a ropes course, and worship.

A Typical Day at Camp

Campers wake up in the cabin and go to breakfast in the dining hall with everyone else in their camp group. Then we start the day with a brief period of quiet journaling/reflection time, followed by a whole group introduction to the day's theme and schedule. After that, kids break into smaller rotation groups for activities like crafts, games, ropes course, and interactive descussions. After that, there is lunch in the dining hall, one hour of "chill time" which is just time in bunks either sleeping or doing a quiet acivity. The afternoon usually includes swimming in the pool and cabin time (small group discussions and activities relating to the day's theme). After dinner, there are other large group activities like talent shows, concerts, huge games for the whole group, a dance, or another fun experience for all our campers. Every day is packed with fun at La Foret summer camp!

Pricing & Scholarship Information

La Foret is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. We set pricing in order to be able to cover the cost of our quality programming, not to make a profit. Camperships are always available, so please do not let cost be a barrier! At the end of this form, you may save your camper's spot by paying the $50 deposit if that is needed. You may then email camp@laforet.org if the following pricing tiers are out of your budget and you need additional funding.

• The "Subsidized Level" ($600) is for those who regularly experience financial hardship.

• The "Sustainer Level" ($705) reflects the true cost of hosting one camper for a week at La Foret, based on estimates of attendance, supplies, food, etc.

• The "Supporter Level" ($810) is closer to what comparable programs in the area cost, and it allows us to offer the other tiers. However, we know that not every camper will be able to attend for that price.
